If I Stand...

My name is Andrea. I am a 28 year old geropsychiatry physician assistant who is absolutely in love with practicing medicine. More importantly, I am a Bible believing Christian. I have decided to share my spiritual journey here with anyone who would like to join me. These are my field recordings...

Mission Statement

9/14/10

My name is Andrea. I am a 26 year old physician assistant student who is absolutely in love with practicing medicine.

I am a Bible believing Christian that has not claimed a particular denomination, but I have enjoyed communing with a particular little Baptist church for the past 3 years. This particular church has given me strength that I did not know I was capable of harnessing. It continues to give me true wisdom—not just knowledge—that allows me to live healthily and joyfully as a servant of the Lord.

As everyone does, I live in a spiritual battle zone. In-between Sundays, I have more interaction with the enemy (or rather, those who indulge in the lies presented by the enemy) than I do with my comrades. My comrades are with me “in spirit”, but our works for the Lord send us in opposite physical directions. This blog is an attempt to stay connected with my comrades that I already know, and perhaps meet some new ones.

This blog is about standing. It is inspired by the Rich Mullins song “If I stand”.  (Check the Playlist at the bottom of the page). This blog is about standing on the promise that the Lord will pull me through. Lately I have been thinking more along the lines of fighting in the promise that the Lord will pull my through. (This was mostly inspired by reading C.S. Lewis’ “Screwtape Letters.) As I continue to put on my armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-20) and fight this spiritual war, I will document here my gains and losses. Along with the results of my Biblical explorations, I will also write about my musical, artistic, and literary influences…I suppose I may also be inspired by a few enemies.

With a deep breath, and an even deeper sigh, I give you my field recordings,

Andrea
